Checking In

Good things :
-Megan produced a child out of her womb : a boy! Samuel! Cute with perfect little lips. Welcome Samuel! Well done Megan.
--Went mountain biking at Harwood's Mill on the reservoir in Newport News on Sunday. Mad fun. Everything was super-wet and slippery and the trail full of roots. I only wiped out once, right after I tackled a sketchy section and was thinking to myself, "Hey I've still got chops, this is awesome, I'm better than I remember..." and wham! wiped out on a corner that I should have made. Launched into a big pile of mud. Praises to Giro helmets, keeping my brainpan intact.
--Charlotte NC...our loss is their gain. They'll get a police chief they need and hopefully our next one won't suck. Good luck Charlotte, kick crime's ass.

Bad Things:
--We're losing our police chief.
--Earthquake, tornadoes, cyclones, idiotic governments, lives lost horribly. How does one keep a balance between the light and the dark...it seems I'm either super-silly and seemingly care-free or darkly depressed and wondering where the end of the road is.
--There is an endless supply of stupid, cruel, thoughtless human beings.
